At the 8th annual Disney Inline Hockey Shootout event held
at the Wide World of Sports Complex Sep 29 thru Oct 1, the
Treasure Coast Boneheadz travel hockey team captured the 10u
silver division crown. The Boneheadz won all of their games,
beating the Scorpions from New Port Richey in overtime to
capture the gold medal. The Disney Inline Shootout is held
each year and attracts teams from all over the southeast -
this year, as far away as Michigan.
The 10u Boneheadz team consisted of goalie Alex Grills, and
skaters Alex Gardiner, Abe Larreategui, Tommy Craig, Shane
Visnick, Beau Ladwig, Jordan Anderson, Justin Bukstel, Orion
Linnehan and Andrew Munkelwitz. The team is coached by Tim
Lerette and Eric Rose. Special tournament awards were given
to Orion Linnehan (most valuable player) and Alex Grills
(most valuable goalie).
The Boneheadz are a travel roller hockey organization that
practices out of the YMCA Sportsworld facility in Stuart.
The organization has been in place for 2 years and consists
of 8u, 10u, 12u and 14u teams. The teams have captured many
local tournament championships and now have 2 national title
wins to their credit. Please feel free to stop by the YMCA
Sportsworld to see their plaques and banners, as well as to
watch them train. Anyone interested in playing for the
Boneheadz or playing in the recreational hockey league can
stop by the YMCA and speak to Tim Lerette or Gary Laychur.
